About

QIMR Berghofer

At QIMR Berghofer, we’ve spent the past 80 years discovering better treatments, tackling global health issues and providing solutions to make better health and wellbeing a reality.

Every $50,000 raised this Giving Day will fund an Early-Career or Mid-Career Researcher Grant at QIMR Berghofer.

These grants provide researchers with the critical support they need to continue their work at a time when government funding is becoming increasingly difficult to secure.

Funds raised this Giving Day will give researchers the time to focus on what matters most, making new discoveries that could improve and save lives, rather than spending countless hours preparing funding applications.

The more we raise, the more researchers you can support.

How your donation helps

Every $50,000 raised this Giving Day will fund a QIMR Berghofer researcher.

Last year, brain cancer researcher Dr Chandra Choudhury received a $50,000 grant that enabled her to continue her research into glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.

"Without the funding I would not be working at QIMR Berghofer. The grant quite literally kept me in research and allowed me to continue working toward improving brain cancer patient outcomes. It makes me very emotional, as I simply wouldn't have this job otherwise, and I'm incredibly grateful."

- Dr Chandra Choudhury

Your donation helps retain talented scientists, accelerates medical discoveries, and gives hope to the patients and families who are counting on breakthroughs.
