About
Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research
Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research brings together researchers, clinicians and health professionals to tackle some of todays biggest health challenges.
Our research is translational, which means it's built to travel - from the laboratory into treatment, and into the care people actually receive. Local purpose, national significance, global impact.
We focus on better prevention, earlier diagnosis and improved treatments, with a particular focus on realising equitable outcomes for those in greatest need.
Because the true value of medical research isn't just in making discoveries. It's in how quickly those discoveries reach the people waiting for them.
How your donation helps
Many of the treatments and tests we rely on today began with research. Your donation helps make what comes next possible.
From cancer and cardiovascular disease to diabetes, women's health and children's health and wellbeing, our researchers are looking for better ways to prevent illness, detect it earlier and improve treatment.
That can mean finding answers sooner. Using technology to improve the way care is delivered. Understanding why a treatment works for some people and not others. Or finding new ways to make advances in health accessible to more people.
What comes next starts with a question - and your support gives our researchers the opportunity to keep searching for the answer. This Giving Day, we’re shining a light on one part of that work: Our pregnancy and Women’s Health researchers, and their search for ways to spot risk earlier, while there’s still time to act.
